However, many brands makes some mistakes which can cost them a lot. HereĀ Issa Asad shares 6 Instagram marketing mistakes.
1. Posting Low Quality Images
The main purpose of Instagram is to share images. Hence, the quality of the pictures which you are uploading is extremely important. Make sure that the quality is top notch. Click as many pictures as possible and then select the best one. Instagram Filters are also there to make your picture look better.
2. Failure to Post Regularly
It is very important to regularly post things in your Instagram account. For example, if you are launching a new product, then you need to market it for a certain period of time. If you are not posting enough, then your followers may think, that they are being neglected. However, that doesn’t mean, you keep on posting things every hour. Excessive posting can annoy your followers. Around 2 or 3 posts every day is good enough.
3. Failure to Provide Any Link
The purpose of Instagram is to increase your follower base, show pictures of the products you are selling, so that people are interested. But that is only half the job. Your ultimate aim is to make sure that your followers are able to buy the products. If you fail to add any link which directs them to your website, then they will not be able to complete the sale. As a customer, it is quite annoying when you like a product but fail to buy it.
4. Posting Unoriginal Photos
The worst thing which you can do in Instagram is to post unoriginal photos. It creates a very bad impression and your reputation will take a hit. Your followers will believe that your account is not genuine. Apart from that, you may also have to deal with copyright troubles. If you just uploaded a picture randomly taken from the Internet, then its actual owner may sue you.
5. Using Wrong Hashtags
This is also another major mistake which many brands make. The purpose of using hashtags is to make your posts visible to a wide base of users. However, hashtags should be used wisely. Go through the list of most searched hashtags and try to include those in your post. However, it should be relevant to the content. Also, don’t make the mistake of using too many hashtags. It should ideally be less than 10.
6. Failure to Interact
If you want a large follower base, then it is quite obvious that you have to regularly interact with your followers. When someone comments on one of your posts, then you should respond back. Also, in case anyone wants information about one of your products, then you should properly assist him or her. Tell them to leave their mail ID, so that you can get back to them. This creates a good impression and will boost your reputation.
