In this article, we’ll take a brief look at the most important features that got introduced with the latest update.
These 3 Things Are Snapchat’s Newest Updates
1. Animated Lenses
The most notable change that got introduced to the App is the “Lenses” features. With the Lenses feature, users can choose from a variety of a special effects to add to their photos that were taken with the their front facing camera. To activate this feature all you have to do is to physically hold down on your face, whenever the front facing camera is active whenever you utilize the App. Once you’ve activated this feature, you will be able to choose from a variety of effects from a column at the bottom side of your screen. It’s also worth noting that this new feature isn’t just limited to photos alone, it can be applied to videos as well. To activate this feature as you record a video, all you have to do is to press and hold down on your face, and the lenses will pop up.
2. Extra Replays
Many users have always proclaimed that the ability to replay once every 24 hour period was not enough. Alas, another feature that got introduced is the extra replay feature. With this ability, users can gain additional replays through an in-app purchase. This is not to say that the ability of being able to get 1 free replay every 24-hour period is gone, it just means that you can gain additional replays. It is worth noting, however, that you cannot replay a single snap more than once. Therefore, the replays have to be applied to different messages.
3. Friend Emojis and Trophy
As you may have already known, Snapchat removed the best friends feature and introduced the friend emoji system instead. During this past update, Snapchat implemented a guide to the “friend emojis” system which essentially gives you the ability to understand the real meaning of each friend emojis. For example, if you didn’t know what the difference between a red and a yellow heart was, with this new guide to the app’s friend emojis system you will be able to see a small description that would tell you that the yellow heart represent bests while the red heart represents BFFs.
To access this feature, you’ll have to go the app’s main settings menu, which is located in the top right corner portions of the app. Once you have gotten to that point all yo have to do is to tap Additional Services -> Manage -> Friend Emojis. With the Trophy Case feature, users will be able to unlock a “trophy” for utilizing a particular feature or for gaining a certain amount of score. For example, if you send a video to someone, you will be able to get a VHS trophy.
